Bins and Asset Management

Bins are folders inside My Assets. They organize project media without changing the clips already placed on a Timeline.

Create and use a bin

  1. Open My Assets.
  2. Select New Bin in the panel toolbar.
  3. Name the bin, then confirm.
  4. Move or drag asset cards into it.
  5. Open the bin to browse its contents; use the breadcrumb to return to the full media pool.

To move several assets together, Command/Ctrl-click or Shift-click the cards, then right-click the destination Bin and choose Move N Selected to Bin. When you are already inside a Bin, right-click its empty area and choose Move N Selected Here. The same empty-area menu includes Select All Media, Clear Selection, and Add N Selected to Timeline when the current selection supports them.

Use Search media to find an asset without manually opening every Bin. Search results can include assets below the current folder level; clearing the search returns to the normal Bin view.

Renaming or reorganizing an asset does not create another copy and does not remove Timeline instances. Deleting a Bin also deletes the items inside it, so review its item count first. Before deleting any source asset, check whether a Timeline still uses it: deleting project media can make those instances unavailable, while removing a clip from one Timeline does not delete its source asset.

Bins belong to the project and are shared across its timelines. See My Assets / Media Pool and Timeline.
