Credits pay for AI processing in ChatCut. Manual timeline editing, uploading media, browsing projects, and exporting do not consume credits. Export access and some AI features still depend on your plan. Plan availability and prices can change, so the billing screens in your account are the source of truth for current amounts.
How do I check my plan and credit balance?
- Open your avatar menu in the top-right of the editor.
- Read the plan and balance shown near the top.
- Select Credits history for the full view.
- Use By Day for daily totals, By Type for feature totals, or Detail for individual transactions.
The newest negative transaction in Detail shows what the last charged action used and the balance after it.
How do I upgrade or buy more credits?
For Pro, open the avatar menu and select Upgrade. Choose the credit tier and monthly or annual billing option shown in the dialog, then complete checkout.
If you already have a subscription and Buy Credits is available, open Avatar → Credits history → Buy Credits. The checkout page shows the current pack sizes, price, payment methods, and validity.
ChatCut checkout supports card and Alipay. Monthly subscriptions paid by either method renew automatically. Annual card subscriptions renew automatically; annual Alipay purchases cover one annual period without automatic renewal.
What is the difference between Free and Pro?
Free includes the core editor and a one-time starting balance of 20 credits. Free accounts also have a cumulative 60-minute web/cloud export quota across their projects. It applies to cloud-rendered video, audio, and graphics output. This is a total allowance, not a per-project or monthly limit. An export that would take the account over 60 minutes is blocked. Local video export from ChatCut Desktop is not counted against it.
Pro includes the recurring credit allocation shown in Upgrade and removes the Free web/cloud export quota. Current Pro-only capabilities are:
- AI video generation with Seedance 2.5, the Seedance 2.0 tiers, Kling 3.0, or Gemini Omni. Each generation also uses credits.
- Generating voiceovers with a cloned custom voice. Each 100 monthly credits includes one reusable custom-voice slot.
- ProRes 4444 export for motion graphics with a transparent background, including motion graphics bundled with an XML export.
Standard MP4/WebM video export, MP3 audio export, subtitle export, XML export, and bundling non-motion-graphics media do not consume credits. See Web Export Duration Limits for the quota and Export Panel for export-specific plan gates.
