View Task Progress and Results

ChatCut reports progress in more than one place because a task can produce a conversation answer, a generated asset, a Timeline edit, or all three.

Follow an Agent task

Keep the AI conversation open while the Agent is working. It shows the current activity, questions that need your answer, generation confirmations, and the final response.

If Stop is visible in the composer, the current task can still be asked to halt. Stopping does not roll back edits already applied to the project.

Check generated media

Open My Assets for video, image, voiceover, music, and other media-generation jobs. An in-progress asset card shows that the generation is still running. When it completes, the result remains in My Assets and can be previewed or dragged onto a Timeline.

Do not repeatedly send the same request while its asset card is active. A slow generation is not necessarily a failed one.

Check editing results

Open the active Timeline and move the playhead through the changed area. Review the frame in the Viewer, and open the Transcript or Inspector when the task changed captions, speech, or item properties.

Confirm that the active Timeline is the one named in the task. Creating or editing another Timeline does not automatically switch every open panel to it.

If a task stopped or failed

  1. Read the visible message in the conversation or failed asset card.
  2. Check whether part of the requested edit already exists on the Timeline.
  3. Correct a rejected input, restore access or credits, or remove the unsupported reference named by ChatCut.
  4. Retry only the unfinished part of the request.

When an Agent pauses after reaching its work limit, choose Continue to resume from the current state or Stop here to accept the partial result. When a generation asset fails, retry from the corrected source rather than duplicating the same invalid input.

For symptom-based recovery, see Common Errors.
