Inspector and Clip Properties

The Inspector shows editable properties for the item currently selected on the Timeline or canvas. Its controls change with the item type, so a video, audio clip, text item, caption, transition, and motion graphic do not expose the same fields.

Edit a selected item

  1. Select one item on the Timeline or in the Viewer.
  2. Open or expand the Inspector if its properties are collapsed.
  3. Change the visible controls. Common visual properties include position, dimensions, rotation, opacity, and corner radius; video can expose speed, audio can expose volume, and text exposes typography controls.
  4. Play the relevant section to review the change.
  5. Use Undo to restore the previous value when needed.

Selecting several compatible items exposes only properties that can be changed together. If a control is missing, confirm that the intended item—not its track, transition, or overlapping layer—is selected. Some generated motion graphics expose custom controls defined by that graphic rather than the standard clip fields.

See Timeline and Viewer and Playback Controls.
